What do you get when you put 200 geeks in the same room at Charlotte’s Packard Place? Innovative solutions to big-data challenges facing business. Or at least that’s what organizers of Hackathon 2013 are hoping for. Hackathon 2013 is scheduled for May 2 at Packard Place. The event will bring together techies of all shapes and sizes in a two-week competition to solve common business problems centered on the use of big data. The event is the brainchild of Abhishek Mehta, the ex-Bank of America executive who founded Charlotte-based Tresata, a big-data startup.
“My motive is to highlight Charlotte as a big-data hub,” he says. “We have a lot of talent.
