Following in the footsteps of other makers, Free Range Brewing is the latest brewery to open its doors in Charlotte’s NoDa neighborhood. Located on 2320 North Davidson Street, they are joined by NoDa Brewing and Birdsong Brewing.
The institution was founded by brothers Jason and Jeff Alexander, who specialize in small-batch brews that ferment in blue corn whiskey barrels. They offer unique flavors – think fig, thyme, ginger, and beyond – that challenge the “status quo” of beer making today.
Their creative handiwork has paid off; Free Range Brewing was recently selected N.C. Brewer of the Year at the N.C. Brewers and Music Festival.
NoDa has recently gained a reputation as a craft beer lover’s paradise, thanks to the profusion of specialty brewers. The area has even earned the title “Brewer’s Alley” by connoisseurs. This represents yet another element of innovation and creativity that is driving Charlotte’s current economy.
