Brand Camp University hosted their fifth annual “Brand Camp” last week in Detroit. Thought leaders, entrepreneurs and investors gathered to explore how the city can serve as a future hub of innovation and technology.
The event attracted over 300 attendees who swapped ideas and shared wisdom with one another. One notable attendee was Brian Watson of Union Square Ventures, which has Twitter, Etsy, Kickstarter and Soundcloud as proverbial feathers in its cap.
In an interview with Crains Detroit, Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian said, “Detroit has a momentum building up here. There’s still a swagger. It’s interesting we’re at Brand Camp in Detroit, because it’s one of the best re-brandings I’ve seen in the past five or 10 years. There’s a lot of exciting people and cool stuff happening here, in my perception.”
This event stands as yet another example of Detroit’s growth in the startup sector.
