Silicon Valley Community Foundation raised $985M in 2012, almost one billion in charity from both corporate and individual contributors – more than double the amount it raised in 2011.
The SVCF is now San Francisco Bay Area’s largest single nonprofit fundraiser, boasting almost $3 billion in assets and on of the top 30 US community foundations. The foundation smashed more 2012 records by assisting in the creation of 138 charitable funds from companies, organizations, and individuals – the most funds of any single year since its 2007 opening. It also received $292M in grant awards.
