Yammer, the online social networking site for businesses, made a flashy entrance to its new headquarters in San Francisco’s Market Square on January 14th, throwing a ribbon-cutting celebratory party in the streets.
Yammer was founded in 2008, and last year Microsoft purchased the company for a whopping $1.2 billion. It has 330 employees in San Francisco and 445 in the world.
The new Market St. headquarters boast a spacious 80,000 square feet in the same building that Twitter’s headquarters now reside after its move last year – an 11-story art deco building built in 1937.
The building is part of Market Square, which is being completely renovated by the Shorenstein company. Since its revival, surrounding neighborhoods have seen a dramatic economic growth.
