It’s National Volunteer Week, time to get out there and do some good in your community. Our friends at Hands on Charlotte are leading the charge once again, with Hands on Charlotte Day, 2014-style. For over 20 years the organization has mobilized hundreds of volunteers across the area to lend a hand at Second Harvest Food Bank, the Bethlehem Center and hundreds of other terrific causes across the city.
Wheel Media loves the good works, and the smart social media strategy this nonprofit uses to do more good. Hands on Charlotte uses Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other channels to reach those in need, volunteers and sponsors on their favorite social platform.
Reaching Thousands
Hands on Charlotte has over 2,600 Facebook likes, and that means exposure to tens-of-thousands of potential volunteers through their posts, shares and likes. On Twitter, an outstanding 5,900 followers spread the word to their friends and followers.
LinkedIn (LI) is one of the fastest-growing social media platforms, and the Hands on Charlotte LinkedIn page is filled with regular posts that reach (and inspire) people who used LinkedIn to network and recruit.
Wheel Media creates social media campaigns for nonprofits and small businesses that are ready to go out and engage their audience. The days of waiting for your donors, volunteers or customers to come to you are done; and Hands on Charlotte is helping to lead the nonprofit social media evolution. Hats off to Beth and the entire team for their wonderful work for National Volunteer Week. We invite you to lend a hand and make some new friends this week.
