San Francisco Tourism Numbers Are Up from Last Year

san-francisco-bay-area-news-tourismLast year, San Francisco had 16.5 million visitors, an increase of 1% from 2011, with a total visitor spending of almost $9 billion — the largest amount spent in over 10 years.

131,128 visitors  came to San Francisco on an average day and spent $24.46 million. Visitors stayed in town for 3.5 days in a hotel and spent around $271 a day, on average.

San Francisco tourism maintained 74,000 jobs in 2012 and saw $562 million in tax revenue, an increase of 6.7% from the previous year. Conventions accounted for an additional $718,000.
