Maybe you’ve heard the phrase “Net Neutrality” recently, but like many people, you’re not quite sure what it means, and you haven’t researched the issue to find out what it’s all about.
Basically the issue comes down to whether internet service providers, like Verizon, should be allowed to charge content providers, like Netflix, for access to “fast lanes” that deliver their content faster than everybody else’s content. The other option is neutrality – no fast lanes or priority delivery for anybody, just a level playing field.
Here’s a quick three-minute video from the New York Times explaining the concept, and how it could directly affect your business or organization.
