Who do you want working for you? We’re guessing you’re looking for Internet veterans capable of coming up with big ideas for your business. Wheel Media is different from many other design companies because we’ve worked at (and for) ad agencies, venture-funded startups and big companies. We’d like to take our collective experience and convert it into revenue for your company. Here’s a brief CV on the members of our management team:
Management Team
Michael Rolph
Marketing Director/Founder
Michael's many years in the Internet include business strategy and Interactive marketing consultation for small companies in consumer products, B2B and B2C Internet companies, manufacturing and financial services, to name just a few. His startup life was with CampusEngine.com, an Internet pure-play where he developed and led the online marketing group's national strategy - a blend of online and offline marketing tactics to build brand awareness, drive site traffic, and drive revenue on a national scale. Most recently he was the Marketing Director for a multi-million dollar web services company. What Michael considers art can sometimes be puzzling to the rest of us.
Anni Wong
Design Director/Information Architect
Anni is the prototypical Wheel Media creative partner. She is a talented designer, yes, but she also has a strong head for business. Trained at the world-renowned California College of the Arts College in San Francisco in the late-90's, Anni has applied her talents to mega-brands like Proctor & Gamble, QuickBooks, Nike and Intel, but she maintains a secret affinity for our clients: smaller companies with bigger expectations. She made the move to small business web design because she knows how big an impact she can make on their bottom line. And we all agree Anni’s dog is really sweet.
Todd Antony
Brand Director/Copywriter
Todd has had a broad array of professional experiences ranging from driving a limousine for a Malaysian Queen to selling phonebooks in the former Czechoslovakia to writing/producing Television commercials. As a copywriter, Todd worked for J. Walter Thompson Worldwide Advertising (Coco's Family Restaurants, Babystyle.com and Beaulieu Vineyards) and Wunderman Worldwide (QuickBooks, Atlas Snowshoes, Covad and InfoWorld). He has written websites, ads, direct mail, TV, radio, banners, emails and even a newsletter or two for dozens of happy clients. In a past life, Todd was also an advertising manager at Pacific Bell Smart Yellow Pages and an Account Executive for several international advertising agencies where he worked with Fortune 1000 clients such as Coca Cola, Gillette, British American Tobacco, Brown Foreman and Johnson & Johnson.
Kenneth Walten
Development Director/CTO
Ken was the first guy on his block to have an email address, growing into a skilled developer of Windows desktop software, client-server solutions, and web applications. He was the co-founder of TradeProduce.com, a now-defunct online wholesale produce marketplace, and HammerTap, a still-thriving consumer software company. As a consultant he has developed projects for clients that have included iOffer.com, buySAFE, CollectorOnline, HeritageCoin.com, Lelands.com and iTaxicab.com. He has a keen understanding of the software needs and financial concerns of small and medium-sized businesses. His box of tools includes Visual Basic, Access, SQL Server, COM/COM+, MTS, IIS, HTML/DHTML, JavaScript, and Perl, and he has been known to do dazzling things with XML. Ken’s stories of being a taxi driver are epic.
