There’s a really interesting Q&A over on entrepreneur.com with James Dyson, founder of Dyson, the company that makes vacuum cleaners (among many other things). His words could be very encouraging, especially if you’re a small business owner, working hard, but have yet to see much of a payoff.
He mentions his thousands of unsuccessful prototypes – which reminded me of a quote attributed to Thomas Edison – “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”
Keep in mind that defining your goals, attempting to reach them, and finding ways that won’t work, is actually quite a lot of progress in the right direction.
