Meet the convergence of weird, futuristic, and completely wonderful. MIT recently unveiled a Dynamic Shape Display, which creates tangible shapes that renders 3D physically. The pioneering device employs iForm, a new technology that facilitates the link between human actions and digital results.
According to the MIT Media Lab, this enables users to “interact with digital information in a tangible way.” The guy in the video, for example, is manipulating the board from miles away. In essence, he is – or his actions are – in two places at once.
This technology could be employed in a range of different industries… But don’t we all just want to play with this prototype for now?!
