Last week, San Francisco approved the Family Friendly Workplace Ordinance, a piece of legislation that supports working parents and caregivers. They are the first city in the nation to pass such an ordinance.
The legislation, which will go into effect on 1 January, gives people the right to request arrangements that will help balance parenting with working. This includes telecommuting, part-time schedules, schedule flexibility, and more.
San Francisco is pioneering a movement that lends support to families from all backgrounds, and is opening the doors to a more open0minded workplace. That’s something we can support.
